How to Buy Kids Clothing - Rugged but Stylish!

Buying kids clothing is quite a challenge. You want durability, but your child is looking for the latest styles and wants to look cool like his or her friends and role models. As the fall season approaches, you will be looking for new styles that are practical and still modern. Remember, if you are shopping for older kids, their opinions do count. Garments they don't like will just be thrown in the closet and that money wasted.

Here are some tips to help you keep your sanity when you shop for your children. As the fall approaches and your child gets back into the swing of school, it's time for a little inventory check. Sort out the garments that are wearable, and those that are outgrown. Keep the small clothes aside for giving to charity or other children in the family. Then check how many garments are wearable and how many more your child will need.

When you buy kids clothing, make your list and categorize: school, play (casual garments to hang out with friends), dress clothes, outerwear, and athletic clothes. Decide how many garments in each category you will need. Bear in mind your child's preferences and get his or her input. Let her check the website with you. Decide on a budget and be sure your child understands that there is a limit to the amount of money you will be spending. When you take into account age and preferences, it will be easier to choose the right style without too many arguments. Allow plenty of time to shop so you do not buy the wrong items. Make sure the merchant has a hassle free return policy.

Underwear and socks should be purchased in the right sizes. If you have more than one child of similar age to buy for, it might be a good idea to choose a style or color for each child. This will avoid mix-ups. Seasonal outerwear should be bought a size or two bigger if possible to ensure that the item will last the entire season. Watch for sales, and be sure you are on the mailing list of your favorite store or website. Try to buy for durability as well as style.

When buying kids clothing it is important to make this an enjoyable task for both of you. Try to agree on some guidelines before you shop. Think about your budget, and also the styles and colors you need to buy. Allow a little leeway for peer pressure in styles and colors, but if you have some clear restrictions on styles (e.g., no belly-shirts, etc.) make these clear before you begin shopping. Be prepared to compromise, and be sure your children know they should meet you halfway as well.

Irish Men Buy More!

Another women's bastion has been intruded by men as recent survey in Ireland suggest that Irish men spend more online than their better halves. According to research by 3V Transactions Services, Irish males between the age group of 21-30, spend 38% more than Irish women. 3V vouchers are a popular mean in Ireland to shop online with 60,000+ customers.

Out of all their customers, 69% are male aged 21-30 and this is the group that is outstripping its peer from the fairer sex. Rather astounding figure considering that shopping was always considered to be a female forte. Out of all the customers of the firm 33% reside in Dublin, Cork and Galway. So this trend is still limited to cities and big commercial centers like Dublin for the simple reason that these places have relatively high internet penetration.

In the entire region of British Isles the proliferation of internet has been rapid since the onset of the 21st century and according to the figures presented by point-topic.com in the entire UK region 18.5 million households will be installed with
broadband connections by the end of 2008. It is almost impossible for Ireland to stay untouched by this 'information revolution' in the region. So with the increase in the number of households with internet connections it is obvious that the number of people shopping online will go up. Till then men can live in the dream of defeating the fairer sex in their own game and on their part women can laugh of every report which suggest that men have taken over the 'reins' of their shopping cart.

Singaporeans' Shopping Fever Spreads Online

Hitting the shops may be the ultimate Singaporean pastime, but non-store retailing - particularly Internet retailing - has boomed. Last year, the sector grew by 19.5% and it has grown again this year by an estimated 18%, according to interim data by research company Euromonitor International. An estimated 28% of this year's growth could be attributed to Internet retailing.

The non-store retailing market is now worth an estimated $1.39 billion, up from $1.18 billion the year before. In addition to Internet retailing, the figure also includes the amount spent on direct selling, home shopping and purchases from vending machines.

Leading the non-store retailers is the Coca-Cola Company, which has 3.3% of market share, in a large part thanks to the numerous vending machines it has across the island. Alticor, the parent company of brands like direct-selling firm Amway, which has in its product range everything from nutritional supplements and cosmetics to cleaning products, has 2.7% of the market. Another direct-selling company, NuSkin Enterprises, has 2.3%.

One item people go increasingly online for is groceries. both FairPrice and Dairy Farm International Holdings, which owns Cold Storage, were among the top 10 non-store retailers. While the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore's survey on online buying for this year has not yet been released, last year, at least 27% of Internet users here bought at least one item online, with each online shopper spending an average of $1,068.

Key purchases include travel products, clothing, footwear and sporting goods. And the sector looks set to grow, as people look to be able to shop anywhere, any time, since online shopping offers 24-hour convenience, said research manager Loo Geok Leng of Euromonitor International.

Still, it does not spell the triumph of clicks over bricks, she adds, explaining that while the two formats do compete to some extent, each provides "gratification" in different ways. No matter how well the evolution of information technology and the internet will be able to imitate real life, at the end of the day, it remains an imitation and, as we all know, this pales besides to real deal.

"Being physically present in a shop and able to touch and try a dainty frock before buying it is not an experience that can be fully replicated online."

A Guide To Lingerie Shopping For Guys

If you want to really impress your lady and make some serious brownie points buying her some intimate lingerie can really do the trick. If you are able to pick out just the right item for her it will show her that you really care about her and she will feel like you are the most romantic guy on the planet, but since we are guys we can also screw it up.

I must warn you though that if you go off half cocked that the chances of failure are high and you could end up in the doghouse, or worse! But, if you follow some simple pointers you stand a good chance of reaping the benefits of your purchase, if you get my drift.

What's one of the biggest mistakes guys make when buying lingerie? Yeah, we ALWAYS buy it like it is our present, like it is for us. Well, unless you are a cross dresser you need to lose that attitude right now!

You need to think about the person you are buying the lingerie for and try to think of what she likes. If you are close enough to her to be buying her lingerie, you should know what she likes and what style she would like as well as what color to get. Some women like baby doll or teddies and some don't! Don't buy something super skimpy just because you want to see her in it because if she doesn't like it you not only won't see her in it, but you might not see her for awhile!

There is a myriad of choices in lingerie on the market today and it seems like the ads are directed at us, some of them will get us in trouble. If your lady isn't into the street walker look for lingerie you will definitely make her upset if you buy her that type. Again, remember, it's not for you!

The next dumb thing we do as guys is to just walk into a lingerie store blind and with no idea on earth what to buy. Do you know what happens then, some sexy little sales clerk is going to sell you the lingerie she likes, and then you are in trouble again! Do you know what colors your lady likes? Do you know her style? Do you know her size? There's a monkey wrench in your plans! That is one thing you better get right for sure. If you get something to big, you will get, “You think I'm that big!” and if you get something to small, “I'm too fat, I can't wear this”, either way you have lost!

I hate to say it, but you have to be sneaky. If you don't know her size then it's panty raid time. Wait until she isn't around and go through her drawers, and get an idea of what she likes and her size. She will be so surprised when you give her something that she wanted for herself.
